Private Sexual Health Testing
Testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) can be a scary and sensitive subject. At Health Testing Centers testing for sexually transmitted diseases is discreet and convenient. No physical exams are required. The lab that you visit has all types of patients and laboratory testing.
All Testing is conducted by our lab partner, Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp). They are one of the largest and most respected laboratories in the world. It is the same lab that many doctors and hospitals use for their laboratory testing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend different tests based on age and sexual history.
While some sexually transmitted diseases cause symptoms including itching, irritation, and sores, some cause no symptoms at all. If you are sexually active, it is important to monitor your sexual health with regular testing. Some STDs such as Chlamydia and Herpes can generate no symptoms, especially in women. Testing for STDs may not be included as part of a woman's annual gynecological exam.
STDs are Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or more accurately sexually transmitted infections (STIs.) Common STDs include herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, hepatitis and HIV. Other conditions such as human papillomavirus (also known as HPV, which causes genital warts in 10% of cases) and crabs (pubic lice) are also spread through sexual contact but are not tested by blood tests.
