Testing for STDs can be a scary and sensitive subject. At Health Testing Centers' we make sexual health testing as discreet and convenient as possible. All test results are confidential and are not part of your medical record unless you choose to share them with your doctor. If you are tested by your doctor or by a county or state clinic / free testing service your test results will permanently become part of your medical record. STDs are Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or more accurately sexually transmitted infections (STIs.) Common STDs include Herpes, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Hepatitis and HIV (Aids.) Other conditions such as genital warts (HPV), crabs, and lice are also spread through sexual contact but are not screened through standard STD testing. Following are some common symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases.

If you or your partner have any of these symptoms it is important to get tested immediately. Even if you are not exhibiting symptoms but you are sexually active it is important to monitor your sexual health with STD testing. Some STDs such as Chlamydia and Herpes can generate no symptoms, especially in women. Testing for STDs is also not part of an woman's annual gynecological exam.
