G6PD (glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency is an X-linked genetic disorder that affects over 400 million people world wide. This disorder causes the membrane of RBC's to breakdown in response to oxidative stress placed on those cells. Individuals with G6PD deficiency may live with or without symptoms of this disorder. There have found to be certain triggers that may make symptoms worse. These are: infections, certain drugs and even certain foods. Symptoms may include fatigue, dark urine, abdominal and back pain, and fever.

2. Visit a Lab
