Toxoplasma Gondii Antibodies, IgG

Toxoplasma Gondii (T. gondii) is a parasite that is spread from cats (and other mammals including mice or rats) to humans. Contact with raw meat or fecal matter can also spread the parasite. When a person is afflicted the infection is called Toxoplasmosis. One third of the people in the world are estimated to have the infection. Symptoms rarely develop in most affected adults. However, people with weakened immune systems including AIDS patients and pregnant women can develop severe symptoms including headaches, nausea, fever, and even seizures.
