The Thyroid Profile (T3T4T7 test) is a three part measurement of triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) in the blood with T7 being a calculated index.
The thyroid gland uses iodine from the food that you eat to make the thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). The thyroid gland then stores the T3 and T4 and releases them as they are needed to control your body's metabolism.
Possible indications of inadequate amounts of the thyroid hormone are being tired, anxious, uptight, or experiencing weight gain or loss. The T3T4T7 test is an important test for evaluating thyroid function and is frequently ordered with TSH.
