Testosterone Explained
The Testosterone blood test measures the amount of the testosterone in the blood. In men, testosterone levels affect sex drive, strength, and overall mood. In women, testosterone promotes sex drive. Testosterone levels continue to rise during adulthood until around age 40, when they gradually decrease. Following is a sample of the results of the Testosterone blood test. The reference interval indicates the normal ranges and the flag indicates a result outside of those ranges.
