HIV Blood Test
The CDC has determined that 1.2 million United States citizens
are carrying Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) with about 25% oblivious to their
infection. It is a transmittable disease via the following: unprotected sexual activities,
sharing used needles, breast milk and an infected woman giving birth to her baby.
Recent Exposure STD Testing
Early testing is critical if you believe you may have been
exposed to an STD recently. Recent exposure STD tests can determine if you have
an STD, even if it's only been as little as a few weeks from the believe exposure.
This testing is critical so that you can immediately seek treatment.
Hepatitis B Blood Test
Although some sufferers of Hepatitis B only feel a mild sickness
for a few weeks, others will face the disease for a lifetime. Hepatitis B is a contagious
disease whose infection is spread via sexual contact and the sharing of used needles
and syringes.
Herpes Simplex Virus (I.II, IgG) Blood
Test
The STD commonly called genital herpes is really an infection
of one of the two strains of the herpes simplex virus (HSV). Herpes simplex virus
1 (HSV-1) has generally only caused oral herpes (“cold sores” and “fever blisters,”
colloquially) but has also caused genital herpes among sexually active young people
in recent times. Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) is still the leading cause of genital
herpes, however. Herpes simplex virus can infect new hosts through contact with
either the sores or bodily fluids of someone already carrying either strain of the
herpes simplex virus.
Syphilis – Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR)
Blood Test
Like other sexually transmitted diseases, syphilis is spread
through sexual contact such as vaginal intercourse or oral sex. Some of its symptoms
are easily lost in the symptoms of other diseases, but syphilis can have grim implications
such as brain and heart damage. These symptoms can lead to death if not treated
with antibiotics.
Hepatitis C Blood Test
With an infection rate standing at 200 million people globally,
hepatitis C is an illness not to be taken lightly as it can bring severe harm to
the liver. This disease is spread among people via bodily fluid transfusions. Typically,
people do not show symptoms, but the disease can be detected and treated before
any serious harm occurs.
Chlamydia Test
Although chlamydia is generally asymptomatic, it can be detected
through tests. It is in fact the most widely reported bacterial STD in the United
States. The disease spreads through sexual contact including vaginal and anal sex.
Sexually active individuals are at risk of the disease, especially if they have
more than one sexual partner.
Gonorrhea Test
A bacteria, gonorrhea can be a ticking time bomb for its carriers.
Often living undetected in the tissues of the reproductive tract, urethra, eyes,
mouth, throat, and anus gonorrhea can cause severe problems if it is not treated.
One in ten male carriers, and one in two female carriers, is at risk for these problems,
as they show no symptoms of the disease.
If you think you may need to have STD testing performed, call our Health Testing
Services. We have highly trained nurses available to speak with you over the phone
and answer any questions you may have. They will ask questions to find about your
situation to determine which if any STD tests you may need. This is just the first
step that our nurses will help you through. If you need testing, they are available
to counsel you regarding your test results and can guide you as to what treatment
options are best for you to follow.
One of our goals is to provide privacy and confidentiality to our clients. Unlike
a doctor’s office or clinic, we keep your test results private. They do not become
part of your permanent health record, but are sent directly to you. No one else
will find out the results unless you tell them. Many of our clients choose to test
under an alias and we are fine with that. Another benefit of choosing us is that
we will not require you to undergo a physical exam when being tested for an STD.
Most of the free clinics and doctors will subject you to a physical as part of the
testing process. When you go to the lab for the actual test, your privacy is still
ensured as we only work with labs that offer multiple services. This means that
no one will be able to figure out what kind of test you are there for. We understand
that waiting for results can be difficult, so we offer a quick service. Most people
will receive their blood test results within three days of taking the test.
