Health Check- Male Level 1

Health Check - Male Level 1 Panel
Our Price: $329.00
This comprehensive package of laboratory tests is recommended for men who demand a thorough understanding of the current state of their health (including cholesterol, prostate, thyroid, heart, sugar levels, liver, and kidneys ), all at a discounted price. Health Testing Centers recommend this combination of tests to be performed periodically to measure changes and understand trends that provide critical insight into optimizing your health.

The Health Check-Male Level 1 includes:

Basic Health Screen (BHS)

Includes a complete blood count (CBC), a complete metabolic profile (CMP) and a urinalysis (UA). These diagnostic tests are a starting point to assess overall health. The results obtained from these tests can establish baseline values for wellness or potentially assist with establishing a diagnosis of a medical problem.
A CBC measures parameters including red blood cells, white blood cells and hemoglobin. Anemia is a decrease in red blood cells and can occur for a variety of reasons including blood loss, failure of the body to produce enough red blood cells, or destruction of the red blood cells in the body. White blood cells can be elevated in the face of infection or in certain types of cancer. White blood cells and red blood cells could be decreased if there is a problem with the bone marrow, where they are produced. Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to body tissues.

A CMP provides information about different organ systems of the body. Some important components of a CMP include blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, uric acid, electrolytes, calcium and phosphorus. Enzymes related to the liver and muscle, proteins including albumin and globulin, and fats including cholesterol and triglycerides are also measured in the CMP.

A urinalysis (UA) provides information about the pH and concentration, or specific gravity, of the urine. Urine is also checked for the presence of glucose, ketones, protein, white blood cells, red blood cells, bilirubin and nitrites. Glucose in the urine can be an indication of diabetes. White blood cells in the urine can be an indication of infection.

Lipid Profile (LP)

Includes total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. High cholesterol is a risk factor for coronary heart disease, heart attack, and stroke. LDL, also known as bad cholesterol, can contribute to atherosclerosis by building up on the lining of arteries. Monitoring cholesterol levels can help determine whether lifestyle or changes in lifestyle are making a difference in your health or if an additional step, such as medication, is indicated.

Prostate Check

Includes screening with Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) and Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) tests. PAP is an enzyme found in both semen and the prostate gland that can be released into the blood if there is abnormal function of the prostate. There is a correlation between the PSA level and risk of prostate cancer. The higher the PSA level, the higher the chance of prostate cancer.

Thyroid Function Test Level 1

A Thyroid Profile and Thyroid Stimulation Hormone (TSH) test provide an assessment of your thyroid function.  An overactive or underactive thyroid gland can both result in clinical illness.

Alanine aminotransferase (ALT)

ALT is an enzyme found in several body tissues, but mainly in liver tissue. ALT is released from liver cells when they are damaged.

Glycohemoglobin

A measurement of average blood glucose levels over the previous two to three months. This test is useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of diabetes.

hs-CRP

This advanced high sensitivity test assesses risk of a heart problem. C-reactive protein is an indicator of inflammation in the body, but is not specific to any one source of inflammation.
