Do I need a doctor's order or prescription for blood testing?
Using our service, you choose the lab tests you want and place your request. If you select the “physician order included” option, your request will be reviewed by an independent licensed medical doctor, who will place the order for testing. Once the order has been placed, a test order – or requisition form – for your testing will be sent to you by secure email.

You can also provide a test order from a licensed doctor that you choose. When you choose the “physician order NOT included” option, our team will email you a form that you can take to your doctor for completion. To understand what is needed, call one of our customer service representatives at 1-877-511-5227.

What do I receive after placing order?
You will receive a Health Testing Centers Lab Test Order Confirmation by email as confirmation of your payment.

If you opted for "physician order included" an independent licensed medical doctor will review your requested tests, place the order for testing, and generate the requisition form (test order) that will be sent to you in a second email.

If you selected "physician order NOT included", then you will need to provide Health Testing Centers with a requisition (test order) from your doctor. Our customer service team will email you a form that you can take to your physician to fill out and sign. If you have any questions, please call our customer service team at 877-511-5227.

Are my test results private and confidential?
Yes. When you choose the “physician order included” option, we send your results to the ordering physician , and also to you. The choice is up to you whether you want to share your results with your primary care doctor or anyone else.

If you select your own physician, then your results will be sent only to your doctor. You will need to request a copy of your results from your doctor.

Please note that in certain states, we are required by law to report positive results for HIV and certain sexually transmitted diseases with the local health authority.

No, but scheduling your visit in advance may minimize your wait time.

Once you have your requisition, you can make an appointment directly on LabCorp’s web site at Click the link for “Find a Lab” under the patient section. First, choose the service center you want to visit. Then, view available appointment times and schedule your appointment.

You are not required to make an appointment. LabCorp patient service centers welcome walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the payment process?
Health Testing Centers requires payment upfront by credit card or PayPal®. You will not need to pay anything when you visit the lab for sample collection.

Do I need to fast before my lab visit?
It depends on the test. Some tests, like the Lipid Profile, require a 10-hour fasting period. When fasting is required, only black coffee (no cream or sweetener) and water are permitted. Your requisition form will indicate if the test you ordered requires fasting.

How and when will I receive my test results?
If you selected the Physician Order included option, we will send you a secure email that will allow you to access your results. An authentication process is required before you can access the attachment. These result reports are the actual results reported from the LabCorp testing facility.

If you selected your own physician, then your results will be sent only to your doctor. You will need to contact your doctor’s office for a copy of your results.

Your samples are processed as quickly as possible, and most results are available in 1-2 business days. Some tests, including the NMR LipoProfile® and certain reflex tests, can take longer.

Can I take my results to my doctor?
Yes. You can share your results with your primary care provider or anyone else. Because we send you the actual report directly from our lab, the easiest way to share this information is for you to print an extra copy of the PDF file.

Our customer service team can send a copy to a doctor other than the ordering physician, but you will need to complete a “Third Party Authorization” form. Most patients just print an extra copy to share with their doctors.

Does my test requisition form expire?
Your requisition form is valid for 6 months from the date we send it to you by email.

Do you test minors?
No. All patients must be 18 years or older.

Are there any additional fees at the lab?
No. Because you paid for testing at the time of your request, no additional payments will be collected or due at the lab.

Can I add another test to my order?
If you selected the “Physician Order Included” option, your request is sent for physician review immediately. Because this review would not include any new tests, you would need to place a separate request online for any additional testing.

If you are selecting your own doctor and want to request additional tests, you should call customer service at 1-877-511-5227. They can update your request prior and email you a revised form for physician review and signature.

Can I use my HSA or FSA dollars to pay for tests?
Yes. We accept any HSA or FSA cards that have a VISA or MasterCard logo.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
To cancel your order before your blood draw, call our customer service team at 1-877-511-5227. The $5.40 fee for the “physician order included” option is non-refundable.

If you have already visited the lab for specimen collection, we are unable to refund your payment. Your testing will be completed as originally requested and your results will be sent via secure email.

In order to receive a refund, orders must be cancelled within 6 months of the purchase date. After 6 months no refunds will be given.
