For individuals Health Testing Centers convenient drug tests allow you to be confident that there are no drugs in your system or your teenagers. When the lab receives the urine sample, a technician splits the urine into two portions, called aliquots. The technician performs an analysis by immunoassay on the first aliquot. If the sample is positive, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is used to confirm the findings. If the drug test is employment-related, the results will be sent to a medical review office, where a medical physician will further confirm the findings. Sometimes the test result will be non-negative, which means that a concentration of a metabolite or parent drug was detected. In this case, more information will be required to determine if the donor has a legitimate reason, such as a prescription or other medical treatment.
